After rolling out the Trending Topics feature in the US earlier this year, Threads is now testing the feature in Japan.
“A lot of people outside the US have been asking for Trending Now, and we’re working to bring it to more countries. This week we’ll start testing the feature in Japan with a small number of people,” said Adam Mosseri, Meta CEO who heads up Instagram and Threads. To start.”
Meta says the Trending Now feature highlights conversations happening in real time, but it doesn’t specify whether it filters political topics in this section.
While the social network says it does not actively recommend political content, the feature often features political topics due to the nature of conversations on the platform.
