Tesla and Rivian may have resolved a lawsuit in which Tesla accused Rivian of poaching employees and stealing trade secrets.
Bloomberg reports Tesla informed a Bayan judge in California that the two companies had reached a “conditional” settlement, and that it expected a request to dismiss the lawsuit by December 24.
Tesla filed the lawsuit, which was scheduled to go to trial in March, in 2020. The electric car maker claimed it discovered a “troubling pattern” in which Rivian was recruiting Tesla employees and encouraging them to take proprietary information with them while they did so. Leave.
In response, Rivian filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that it was an “improper and malicious attempt to slow” Rivian’s momentum and scare off Tesla employees who might consider leaving.
Tesla did not immediately respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment. A Rivian spokesperson said the company does not comment on lawsuits.
