Apple’s EU transition from Lightning to USB-C has already affected most of its devices. However, there were a few outliers. Near the top of the list are the Desktop Accessories, Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad. On Monday, the company finally addressed the issue.
Along with the M4 update for the iMac, Apple has started selling USB-C versions of its accessories. Pricing remains the same as its Lightning predecessors at $199 for the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and numeric keypad, $149 for the Magic TrackPad, and $99 for the Magic Mouse.
All three are available in black and white options. Color-matched versions will also ship with the new iMac.
And unlike the new iMac, which won’t start shipping until November 8, all accessories can be purchased now and shipped immediately. Other than switching the ports, not much has changed about the hardware, right down to the much-criticized decision to place the port on the bottom of the Magic Mouse.
A new iMac, an accessory update, and the arrival of Apple Intelligence are the first of what the company promises will be a week of announcements. Recent rumors include the arrival of a new Mac Mini that’s roughly the same size as the Apple TV.
