After more than a decade of waiting, Amazon’s first color Kindle is out of the gate. A problem with the new screen led to Colorsoft buyers leaving unfavorable reviews. At last count, the e-reader is hovering around 2.7 stars.
The company confirmed the supply issues affecting a “small number” of units in a statement sent to TechCrunch.
“We are aware of a small number of reports from customers who see a yellow bar along the bottom of the screen,” Amazon says. “We take the quality of our products very seriously. If customers notice this on their devices, they can reach out to our customer service team.
Amazon has not yet acknowledged reports such as this From Good E-Reader reports that the company has delayed shipping units while it scrambles to find a fix for the software.
