The Department of Justice is reportedly seeking to force Google to spin off its Chrome browser business.
This is according to Bloomberg Reports The Justice Department also plans to recommend to a federal judge that Google face antitrust requirements related to artificial intelligence and its Android mobile operating system.
The enforcement action is an outgrowth of the Justice Department’s landmark multi-year case against Google, which sought to prove that the tech giant had a monopoly on web search in the United States. The Justice Department won its case in August; Federal Judge Amit Mehta ruled that Google violated antitrust laws in both its online search and text search advertising markets.
